jeff
Hi, I have been with MC for 1 month now and I am wanting some opinions from other MC Merchants. Please Check out my web site and reply telling me if you like the design. Thank You beer.gif

On the homepage, the tabs at the top (computers, notebooks, cameras, car comp(?), cd/dvd, mp3 players) and the other navigational links (shopping cart, my account, home, about us, contact us, help) are not clickable.

Additionally, "notebooks" and "car comp" are both highlighted in green. I would assume this would mean both tabs are selected, but I'm not sure how/why this would be as it's on your top page.

The "About Us" and "Contact Us" in your right column are linked as secured pages. Was this intentional?

The header graphic is missing from your category and item pages. It appears the file is looking for something on your local hard drive, not from your monstersmile.gif image directory.

At the bottom of each page, the "Questions, Click Here" and "Help Center" link boxes don't link to anything. "Guarenteed Secure Shopping" needs to be spell checked.

On the "About Us" page, "inovative" and "techniquse" need to be spell checked.

On the "Help Center" page with common questions, the answers don't appear until I mouseover the question. Was this intentional? Also, the refund policy answer is pretty long with all of the double spacing. "Encription" in the site security answer needs to be spell checked. Different answers use different size text - Site Security and Refunds are not the same height.

During checkout, on the payment screen, the first option is "Visa - Thank You" but then the drop down has both Visa and Mastercard. The second payment option is only a dash. The PayPal payment option has a field for email address. If you were not upgraded to 4.1.1 to have this removed, might want to open a ticket to get the upgrade. The PayPal option no longer has the user enter their email address at this point.

It looks like there was a DNS change on 06/10/05 from another provider to monstersmile.gif. Perhaps it hasn't propogated to your DNS yet.

Your design is quite professional. Here's my feedback:

1.) Obvious, but not all top tabs are hooked up.

2.) For each major section, I like how you have the sub categories at the top and then list (all?) the products. You need to call out these top links - via css - so that the customer can immediately recognize that they are distinct from the rest of the page.

3.) Your page layout is relative - so each component (top, left hand side, right hand side, center, etc.) are all moving around on the page disjointed. So you end up with the components not "fitting together" as they should to maximize the beauty and professionalism of your page design.

4.) Your font sizes need to be standardized. For example, when I'm browsing the products all fonts are at a "normal" size, but when I go to the about us page they're way oversized. Pick a clear set of treatments and stick with them throughout the site. E.g. titles are X size and color, body text is Y size and color, navigation links are Z...

Otherwise, congratulations on a fabulous start!

Hey Jeff...I also added comments in the store review thread. Might be worth a look.

Hi Jeff -

Your site is very clean and well laid out & great images too. One of the things that I noticed before I read any of the other posts was the same typo that sgrover caught in the help center "techniquse" whistling.gif

Also in the Help Center (I do like how you have it centered in the bottom of the page) - I couldn't get the Shipping Rates/Policies to display - prob. still working on that right?

As you get your other inventory items added are you going to make use of the Related Products option? It is a nice tool thumbsup.gif

Like CC mentioned, standardizing your fonts makes a world of difference in keeping with your professional image:)

I noticed that some products do state what the mfg warranty is and some products do not, so my suggestion is to offer that information up front in each detailed description since this is a topic in your refund policies. By the way, I think it is always a good idea to state a definate time period to contact a company for return/refund issues. For instance, something to the effect of; "Please inspect your shipment immediately and contact us within 7 (?) day to report any damage or incorrect product shipments. Believe me, people will call 42 days after the fact and get ticked at you because UPS dropped a box - and then bad luck trying to file a claim then....

The Browse All Products is not showing all of your products detective.gif

And lastly...it just seems that you need more keyword rich text in the site...we all do the same thing...try to design a professional appealing site & get products up...the work it backwards on the seo stuff - ha!

Good luck!
jeff
Hi Cyork, Thanks for reviewing my site and giving me some great advise. thumbsup.gif

I have just been approved to resell for a company who stocks many consumer electronics and computer equipment. Once I get these products uploaded I should have more keyword rich text.

I am going to work hard tonight to get our site ready for search engines! cool.gif

Thanks, Jeff
